Kanna is a succulent plant that grows most commonly in South Africa, but can be easily grown in other areas. The plant has been used for years as a mood-altering substances. Originally the plant was chewed for its effects however through the years, it is just as common now to use in capsules or smoked. The first known written account of use dates as early as 1662 by Jan Van Riebeeck who had strong "deep rooted" ties and of political influence in South Africa. Used in conservative amounts kanna can raise mood levels, decrease anxiety, stress and tension. It has also been used as an appetite suppressant. In high doses euphoria has been reported leading to stupor and sedation. The plants active alkaloid is Mesembrine.

Our kanna is a hybrid and contains 2.85% Mesembrine and should be used with care! This is more alkaloid then available in organic form.
Smokers can enjoy 50-100mg as a mood enhancement. It is not recommended to burn more then 400mg most people find that it is too potent and not enjoyable.

WARNING: Kanna is believed to act as an Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI). Kanna IS NOT to be used in conjunction with other SSRI, MAO inhibitors or Cardiac medications  (most commonly found in anti-depressants).
